MAKING CONNECTIONS ON THE PORTAL

How can we help you learn?

You may be learning online, but you are not learning alone. The eCampus NZ portal is a social learning environment. There are plenty of ways for you to interact and collaborate with your classmates, facilitator and the student advisor team. Remember that you're expected to log in regularly (every 2-3 days) and make progress in each course. Checking your messages regularly and responding to texts and messages from the student advisor team and facilitator is a great way to let us know that you're still engaged.

Get to know us

Take some time to get to know the student advisor team and facilitator by reading the ‘Meet your facilitator’ and ‘Meet the student advisor team’ information on your course overview.

Connect

The student advisor team and facilitators love hearing from learners. You can contact your advisor and facilitator directly from your course home page.

Reach out to your classmates at the beginning of each course by sending out a personal message or introducing yourself on a forum.

Help us and your fellow learners get to know you by visiting your profile page and uploading a photo. Your classmates and facilitator will see your photo when they view your profile page and next to any posts that you make.

Engage

At the bottom of most pages within a course there is an option to write comments. Your facilitator and classmates will see these comments when they view the page.

The forums in our online portal provide spaces in which you can start and join conversations with fellow learners and your course facilitator.

All page comments and forum posts will also show in the All Course Comments box within the course home page and in the My Conversations area of your learner dashboard.

At the end of each day, everyone will receive an email about the pages and forums that have been active during the day.

Keep in Touch

You can send a personal message to anyone by clicking on the envelope icon next to their name. You can also send messages to fellow learners by selecting My Classmates in the My Conversations area of your learner dashboard. You may also receive messages from your facilitator about assignments and course content.
